Ahaldara is famous for outstanding view of Sunrise and Sunset on Mt. Kanchenjunga. On a clear day beautiful views of meandering Teesta river, valleys, hill stations such as Gangtok, Kalimpong and number of small places like Tinchuley, Algarah, Bagora etc can be seen from the Ahaldara top. Otherwise simply busk in the sun, take a jungle trail or walk through tea-gardens and rejuvenate body and mind by the boon of nature.

Place to Visit in or around Ahaldara :

Latpancher - A birdwatchers paradise is very close to Ahaldara. An avid bird lover can spend a day in Latpancher just for watching numerous birds. Common species of birds find in Latpancher are Black-throated Sunbird, Long tailed Hornbill, Orient Hornbill, Rufous Hornbill to name a few.

To roam around Selphu hill is also refreshing.Sittong is just 2 kms away from Ahaldara. Sittong is also called Orange Village. During winter it is flooded with Orange colour. Sittong is famous for White Orchids.NamthingPokhri is very near to Ahaldara. It is located in Selphu hill and the sole breeding site for the endangered Himalayan Salamander. But during dry season the lake becomes dry.

Mungpoo is also very near by of Ahaldara and can be visited in a day tour. Mahaldiram and Bagora can also be visited from Ahaldara.
